  2. Ah,flash back. That bass brings back fond memories of my old 4 string Ibanez. Originally I had a Roadstar(are those even around anymore?) and eventually switched to the Soundgear. I've never felt the need for more than 4 strings but I am quite interested in checking out a fretless. What your thoughts on fretless? The sanding on yours looks great. I had sanded the back of teh neck once which I loved because you can slide up and down much better plus I liked the way it felt.

  3. Fretlesseseseses' are great basses. They offer a really unique sound, which is warm and round. Great for long slides, trills and stuff. You'll have to completely adjust what you have already learnt, though. It's more like playing a traditional stand up, than electric. Obviously, there are no frets, so a knowledge of where notes are is quite handy. Also, you will get a BIG change in sounds when playing stuff like tapping, slap and pop. But thats not what they are for, really. More atoned to jazz, and traditional musics. Fretlesleseseseses' are lovely things, Nicci. Great sound.
